There are plans to continueand extend its work transforming neighbourhoods through the following:KEY FACTSIn 2009, Sheffield City Councillaunched a new initiative tocreate a unique public/privatepartnershipSCC selected Keepmoat andGreat Places Housing Group as it’spartner to form Sheffield HousingCompanySHC is currently over half waythrough its plan to deliver2300 new homes across 7neighbourhoods by 2026Sustainable neighbourhoodsTraining CoursesEmployment and ApprenticesEducationEnvironmentCommunity SupportIn 2009, Sheffield City Councillaunched a new initiative tocreate a unique public/privatepartnershipOur community initiatives: Skills, training and jobsThe Building Block This Construction Skills Fund (CSF) programme provides unemployedpeople with bespoke training and work experience on construction sites, leading toConstruction Skills Certification Scheme qualifications.Rewarding Endeavor The donation of building materials allowed a charity to help someof the most disadvantaged young people in Sheffield to learn basic construction skills.Charity Endeavour, based in Fir Vale, offers programmes of personal development,education and social action to disadvantaged young people and partnered with SHC toorganise visits to new build construction projects underway in the city.Opening doors to a career in construction SHC have provided support at many CareersFairs aim is to engage and inspire students, while providing advice and support.
